Following his residency in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Thut dedicated seven years to practicing general orthopedics in the US Navy. At the Naval Hospitals in Charleston, South Carolina and Bremerton, Washington he served as department head of orthopedic surgery. In Charleston, Dr. Thut was also the director of the medical staff. Dr. Thut earned his sports medicine fellowship in New York City at the Hospital For Joint Diseases. While in New York, in addition to caring for athletes at New York University, he worked in the Harkness Center for Dance Injuries, helping to care for world-renowned dance companies including the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Cirque du Soleil. Dr. Thut specializes in orthopedic conditions of the knee and shoulder and has a subspecialty board certification in sports medicine. He is a team physician for the University of New Hampshire Wildcats and has privileges at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester and at Northeast Surgical Care in Newington, NH.
