Appointment FAQs:
How do I make an appointment? We do our best to accommodate your schedule and to minimize your wait in getting an appointment. We have only one office location at the Marsh Brook Professional Center. To schedule a new consultation or follow-up appointment, or to change an existing appointment, call (603) 742-2007.
What should I bring to the office for my appointment? Please read the Your Visit section of the website before your visit. Your appointment will be facilitated by having an organized file of your medical history, medications, previous studies such as X-rays, MRI, or CT scans with reports, and copies of any previous operative reports which relate to your current problem. Also remember to bring your insurance information so that our staff can assist you with your claim forms as needed.
Should I fill out any forms before my visit? Please visit our forms section to download the forms we need prior to your visit. The more accurate and thorough the information on these forms, the better we can care for you and promptly treat your problem.
Where are your offices? Please see the Facilities page for more information about our offices.
Appointment cancellationsWe request that patients who must cancel their appointments do so at least 5 days prior to the scheduled visit in order to give other patients an opportunity to be scheduled in your cancelled time slot.
Patient Waiting TimesWe pride ourselves by minimal patient waiting times in our office. We do appreciate your patience and understanding with delays. We do ask our patients to contribute to efficient patient flow by being on time for their appointment and by bringing all requested materials to the visit. In fairness to other patients, patients who are late may need to reschedule or wait for other scheduled patients that have come on time. end faq
Physician FAQs: Where do the physicians operate? Our physicians operate primarily at Wentworth Douglass Hospital and Frisbie Memorial Hospital. Some of our physicians also have operating privileges at Portsmouth Regional Hospital and the Portsmouth Regional Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Primary Care Physician (PCP) referralsPlease review your insurance policy requirements to determine if you need a referral from your primary care physician prior to visiting us. If you do not have the appropriate referral, you will be charged for the visit or asked to reschedule. end faq
Prescription/Medication FAQs: How do I get a refill on my prescription? We encourage patients with questions regarding their medications or prescriptions to call during our regular office hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm EST). If you are calling off-hours, please have the medication name and pharmacy telephone number ready for the physician when you call. It is our office policy not to refill narcotic pain medication prescriptions after hours, on weekends or holidays. This policy is designed to prevent medical errors and to allow for proper documentation of prescriptions. Please try to anticipate in advance if your current prescription will run out over a weekend so you can obtain a refill prior to the office's closing on Friday.
What should I know about my medication (risks, adverse effects, etc)? Many medications have side effects. It is important that you make yourself aware of the possible risks of your medications so that you can inform your physician if any adverse effects occur. Medscape is an excellent resource that will provide you with most of the pertinent information regarding any of your medications. Type in your medication name to read the information. In general, your primary care physician is the best person to monitor your general health and prescribe all of your long-term medications. This will enable your primary care physician to make any changes as dictated by your health or potential medication interactions. end faq
