Dr. Parsons graduated with honors from Georgetown University in 1992. He completed medical school in 1996 at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where he was awarded the New York Orthopedic Hospital Award. He received his orthopedic training at the University of Pittsburgh where he also pursued a one-year research fellowship in shoulder biomechanics. In 1999, he was awarded the prestigious Charles Neer Award for excellence in clinical research in the field of shoulder and elbow surgery. In 2004, Dr. Parsons completed advanced surgical training in shoulder and elbow surgery at both the University of Washington in Seattle and the University of Sydney in Australia. Throughout this time, he remained active in scientific research and has helped develop new procedures for the treatment of shoulder arthritis using regenerative techniques. His interest in treating degenerative musculoskeletal conditions has fostered additional training in hip and knee replacement surgery.

 

Dr. Parsons treats a wide variety of conditions affecting the shoulder and elbow from sports-related injuries to age-related degenerative conditions. He has a special interest in using arthroscopic techniques to treat shoulder and elbow conditions as well as an interest in the treatment of complex problems such as revision joint replacement and failed rotator cuff repairs. Dr. Parsons also specializes in treating degenerative joint disease of the hip and knee including arthroscopic surgery and total joint replacement.
