The average person takes several thousand steps per day and many highly active individuals will take more than a million steps per year. Conditions affecting the foot and ankle can therefore dramatically impact a person’s mobility and comfort as symptoms may be magnified simply by virtue of being on one’s feet. Successful treatment of these conditions requires an advanced understanding of interaction between foot and ankle anatomy and the mechanics of weight bearing and ambulation. For this reason, Foot and Ankle Surgery has become a highly specialized field.
Dr. Geppert is a fellowship-trained expert in Foot and Ankle Surgery with over a decade of clinical experience in treating injuries ranging from sprains and stress fractures, to arthritis and deformities. He was one of the first surgeons in the region to apply arthroscopic technique to the treatment of subtalar joint problems and has published numerous articles on a variety of topics related to this field.
