MRI Services

A recent addition to Seacoast Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is the .2 T
esla low field GE Lunar Extremity MRI unit installed to better serve
our patients. We provide all of our patients with a brochure answering frequently asked questions about MRI exams. Photos illustrate the difference between an MRI and an x-ray. The brochure explains how patients can prepare for the exam.
It is especially important for patients to bring any previous MRI reports and/or films to their appointments at Seacoast Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
Patients Who Cannot Be Scanned for MRI:
- Pregnant patients
- Those with cardiac pacemakers
- Those with certain cardiac valves
- Those with certain cerebral aneurysm clips
- Those with certain cochlear implants
- Those with Parkinson's implant stimulators (in the brain)
- Those with TENS units
- If the patient has ever experienced a metallic foreign body injury to the eye, regardless of when the injury occurred, a Water's view X-ray is required.
Staff Certification: Our staff have earned special certification to operate the GE Lunar Extremity unit and for completing the ASRT MR Cross Training Program.
