Orthopedic surgeons Dr. Moby Parsons and Dr. Gavin Webb of Seacoast Orthopedics & Sports Medicine have been honored with the distinguished Vitals Patients’ Choice Award. The Patients’ Choice Award by Vitals Awards and Recognition Program acknowledges doctors who provide excellent care as determined by their patient ratings.

Each year, hundreds of thousands of new doctor reviews and ratings are featured on Vitals.com. Patients write about their experience and rate their doctor on several components of care, including bedside manner, doctor-patient face time, and degree of follow-up. Patients also provide their doctor with an overall rating. Vitals analyzes these ratings annually, along with other quality measures, to identify yearly winners of doctor awards. While most doctors receive positive feedback from their patients, only a few meet the criteria for a Vitals Award or Recognition, illustrating their compassionate care and understanding in treating their patients.

According to Vitals CEO Mitch Rothschild, “Reviews are considered an important quality indicator for nearly every major consumer decision online – and now it’s true for health care. We’re proud to acknowledge these doctors that are regarded by their patients as the very best caregivers in their community.”

Dr. Parsons’ practice is divided between the treatment of shoulder and elbow injuries and the treatment of arthritis conditions of both the upper and lower extremities, including joint replacement procedures for the hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow. He has special interest in arthroscopic approaches to treatment and in the treatment of complex reconstructive problems including primary and revision joint replacement and repairing failed prior surgeries. His work has fostered numerous publications and presentations at national and international meetings.

Dr. Webb has expertise in cartilage restoration procedures and an interest in alternatives to total knee replacement surgery in younger patients. He also has a special interest in sports medicine and the prevention and treatment of athletic injuries in patients of all ages. Dr. Webb has conducted research and lectured on cartilage injuries, presented papers at national and international meetings, is a reviewer for The Journal of Arthroscopic and Related Surgery and serves as a team physician for the University of New Hampshire Wildcats.
